Learn to read the Sections and apply it with proper interpretation and analytical review – said CA Kailash Jogani, Past Chairman, Nagpur Branch of ICAI while speaking as a Chief Guest in a Full Day Seminar on Finance Bill’ 2017 and a Roadmap to GST organized by Nagpur Branch of WICASA of ICAI recently. He explained the logic for advancement of date of budget by one month so that Budget gets passed earlier and the provisions understood firmly. He urged to students that don’t aim for only passing exams; learn to review, interpret and implement. With his experience he shared that to pass exams Luck required is only 25% balance 75% is pure hard work. Concentrate on ethical practice and display a sense of responsibility as students are the pillars of Nations Growth.

Earlier, CA. Sandeep Jotwani, Chairman of Nagpur Branch of ICAI in his remarks mentioned that students should be aware of the latest development and with various new laws in force. There should always be greed of learning which will lead them to be an effective and an expert professional. He expressed confidence that with this year theme of “Believe in Yourself” Nagpur Branch of WICASA would scale new heights and will help the students to develop their skills.

CA. Saket Bagdia, Chairman of Nagpur Branch of WICASA, expressed that Finance Bill’ 2017 will bring in more clarity in tax concepts as well as asking for increased compliance; and GST now set to come from 01st July, Team WICASA 2017 thought it apt to hold a seminar with expert faculties to deliberate on the topics.

While deliberating on Changes in Finance Bill with respect to Direct Taxes, Income Tax Expert CA Naresh Jakhotia lucidly explained the various changes linking it with justifications for the same. Further Indirect Tax Expert, CA Varun Vijaywargi explained that though no major changes were brought in Indirect taxes but a base was definitely made for smooth implementation of GST from 01st July’17. CA Ritesh Mehta, explained the concepts of GST, applicability, tax calculations and returns

The Sessions were coordinated by WICASA Coordinators Nazia Haq, Sonali Raut and Devashish Mahadule. WICASA Coordinators Gurbani Kaur Bhasin and Pulkit Jhawar worked hard for the success of the program. The seminar was attended by a large number of students.
