Nagpur News: A heavy storm hit Kanhan Water Treatment Plant today 30th May 2014 in the afternoon at around 2:00pm. This storm caused destruction of property in addition to major electricity failure due to falling of tree on 33 KV HT Line.

By the time this report was written, the power supply at the left bank intake well (Jackwell) was not restored. The team of MSEDCL is working for the rectification of fault. But the electricity failure of so far Three and a half hours has resulted in sizable pumping loss. Therefore the water supply in the Eastern and Northern part of Nagpur remained adversely affected in this duration.
Partial pumping i.e. one pump on 900mm line and one on 1300mm line has started.

Still there will be restricted and low pressure water supply on 31st May in the morning. Citizens are requested to take a note.
