Nagpur: Chief Minister Eknath Shinde said it’s time Uddhav Thackeray stopped claiming that his party has been ‘stolen’ as the people have given their verdict on the ‘real Shiv Sena’.

Shinde said, “How many times will you cry like a small kid. In Gram Panchayat elections, his party stood sixth, while we emerged second. In the Lok Sabha election, we received more votes than them. How many times will you say we have stolen (party symbol).”

“Our strike rate was higher during Lok Sabha polls and we got more number of votes too. The people have spoken,” said Shinde upon his arrival at the Nagpur Airport on Sunday.

He was in Nagpur to meet BJP State President Chandrashekhar Bawankule, who lost his mother earlier this week.

Responding to Uddhav’s statements that Shinde sought votes using a photo of Balasaheb, the CM said, “For how long will you continue to cry over this. Stop crying and saying that your party has been stolen. The fact is that people have chosen the real Shiv Sena which is with us now. It was you (Uddhav) who deviated from Balasaheb’s ideology and got into an unnatural political alliance.”

Shinde said that the upcoming Assembly polls will further prove his point. “In just two years, the Mahayuti Govt has done a lot for farmers and women. We relaxed certain norms for the benefit of farmers. For our sisters, we are providing a Majhi Laadki Bahin scheme as a rakhi gift. You (Uddhav) in your 2.5 years did nothing for them, and people are aware of that,” said Shinde.

Shinde further claimed that people were voting in favour of them as the Thackeray camp had abandoned the thoughts of Balasaheb Thackeray.

“We contested 13 seats in Lok Sabha and won 7. We got 2 lakh more votes. Their strike rate was 42 percent, ours was 47 per cent. People have confirmed whom Shiv Sena belongs to. The core voter of Shiv Sena is with us, and they will get to know it in the Assembly polls.”
