Nagpur: Maharashtra Government has nominated Dr. Anup Marar to Visitors Board of Indira Gandhi Government Medical College (IGGMC). Dr. Marar, who is a product of IGGMC thanked Chief Minister Devendra Fadanvis and Nagpur District Guardian Minister Chandrashekar Bawankule for recommending his nomination in the said board. Being an alumnus of IGGMC, Dr Marar aims to genuinely comprehend the real bottlenecks and ground realities affecting the growth of IGGMC and Mayo Hospital. Belonging to 1984 batch, Dr. Anup Marar completed his graduation and Paediatrics post-graduation from IGGMC. Presently he is the only IGMCian on Visitors’ Board.
Government of Maharashtra had established Visitors Boards for many medical colleges and associated hospitals based in Mumbai and also Nagpur based Indira Gandhi Government Medical College, Mayo Hospital and Daga Hospital. As per government ruling dated 2015, an IGGMC Visitors Board was reconstituted with Vikas Kumbhare, MLA, as President. It presently includes Sudhakar Deshmukh, MLA, Gajanan Nimdev, Dr. Pratibha Mandavkar, Geeta, Dr. Umesh Shingne, Ravindra Dongre, Jitendra Thakur, Ashfaq Patel, Subhash Kotecha apart from IGGMC Dean, Dy. Director Health Services, Nagpur Division, Chairperson, NMC Health Committee and IGGMC Employee Representative and IGGMC Head of Department as members.
Dr. Anup Marar is a renowned Health & Hospital Management expert and is presently attached to city based Orange City Hospital & Research Institute as its Director. He is also associated with various social organisations of city and is Secretary of Vidarbha Hospitals Association.
During his recent visit to city, Dr. Sanjay Mukherjee, IAS, Secretary, Medical Education & Research, GOM welcomed Dr. Anup Marar and congratulated him for his inclusion in IGGMC Visitors Board and hoped that with his meticulous empathetic perfectionist outlook and vast administrative experience in private health care sector, Dr. Anup Marar will sincerely provide valuable inputs towards growth of his alma mater in interest of needy. Prominently present on this occasion were Dr. Ajay Keoliya, Dean, IGGMC.
