SRPF jawan booked for bid to commit suicide

Nagpur: MIDC police have booked an SRPF jawan on the charges of attempting to commit suicide by slashing veins of his hand by a sharp-edged weapon. The reason for the jawan taking such step could not be verified so far.

The accused, Vishwas Shyamrao Madavi, is residing at SRPF (State Reserve Police Force) Camp, Quarter No. 79/01, Hingna Road, under MIDC police jurisdiction. Around 5 pm on Friday, Vishwas slashed veins of his hand with the intention of committing suicide over unverified reasons. However, the attempt could not succeed as he was spotted heavily bleeding and was rushed to a hospital.

MIDC ASI Ramesh, on the basis of a complaint lodged by Premkumar Kashinath Mishra of Group XIII of SRPF, booked the accused Vishwas Madavi under Section 309 of the IPC and investigating the matter.
