Bhandara: A disturbing incident has come to light in Bhandara district, where a Sub-Divisional Police Officer is facing serious allegations of molestation. The officer, Ashok Bagul, is accused of demanding sexual favors from a young woman who approached him to file a complaint against her estranged lover.
The young woman, hailing from Lakhani Taluka, was pursuing her engineering studies in Nagpur when she met a man, and their friendship soon blossomed into a romantic relationship. They secretly married after making vows to each other.

However, as time passed, her lover began to avoid formalizing their marriage. When she pressed him on the matter, he outright refused, causing her deep distress.
Feeling betrayed, she attempted to take her own life, but fortunately, she was saved. Determined to seek justice for the betrayal, she decided to lodge a complaint.
Accompanied by another woman, she visited the Bhandara Sub-Divisional Police Officer, Ashok Bagul. During their initial meeting, Officer Bagul asked her to come back alone. Not suspecting his intentions, she returned as instructed. It was then that Bagul allegedly proposed to assist her only in exchange for sexual favors.
Shocked by his proposition, the woman reported the incident to the District Superintendent of Police, Lohit Matani.
Following her complaint, the Bhandara Police swiftly registered a case against Officer Bagul under Sections 354A and 509 of the Indian Penal Code, which deal with sexual harassment and insulting the modesty of a woman.
