Nagpur: In a significant breakthrough against a long-running housebreaking racket, the Anti-Burglary Squad of Nagpur Crime Branch has arrested a notorious thief, Ram alias Spider Dinesh Madavi (36), resident of Salai, Khursapar (Kondhali). Madavi is believed to be involved in more than 70 burglary cases across the region and has been evading arrest for years.
Acting on a credible tip-off, the squad intercepted and detained Madavi near Government Medical College. During interrogation, he allegedly admitted to committing three recent burglaries within Nagpur city, including a high-value theft reported under Kotwali Police Station.

Police also suspect Madavi’s involvement in another burglary near a temple in Shegaon, Akola district, where ₹2 lakh was reported stolen. A separate investigation into that case is underway.
The arrest was executed with the aid of Cyber Cell’s technical support, which helped track the accused’s movements.
The operation was led by PI Dilip Chandan, Anti-Burglary Squad, Crime Branch, Nagpur City. Authorities believe the arrest will help crack several pending burglary cases linked to the accused’s criminal network.
