Nagpur: A motorcyclist was injured grievously while the pillion rider had a lucky escape when a speeding truck hit them at a traffic signal at Reshimbagh Square here on Monday noon. The driver of the truck has been arrested.
According to information, the unidentified victim youth along with a pillion rider, riding a Hero CBZ Motorcycle (MH-40/ AB-0353) had stopped at the traffic signal at Reshimbagh Square. Suddenly, a rashly driven truck (MH-31/ DS-2452) crashed into the motorcycle from behind. While the pillion rider escaped unhurt, the rider of the motorcycle came under the right-side rear wheels of the truck. As a result, the youth suffered life-threatening injuries. He was rushed to Government Medical College and Hospital where he is reported to be battling for life. A team of Sakkardara Police reached the spot on being informed and started their investigation. The driver of the truck has been arrested by the police.
Till the time of filing the report, the identity of the victim could not be ascertained.
