Speeding car ploughs into roadside eatery on WHC Road, driver hurt

Nagpur: Driver of a car was seriously injured when the vehicle ripped through a roadside snacks shop on West High Court Road in the small hours of Wednesday. Two other persons were also hurt in the freak mishap.

The complainant, Kapil Pradeepbhai Devani (34), resident of Parivar Apartment, Gandhinagar, told police that he owns an eatery named Preeti Corner situated in front of Haldiram Showroom on West High Court Road. Around 0230 hours on Wednesday, the driver of Hyundai Verna car (MP-50/CC 2266) Akshay Krushnababu Madavi (44), resident of Indora, lost control over his speeding vehicle and ploughed it through the snacks eatery. As a result, Akshay received grievous injuries apart from extensive damage to his car. The eatery shop also suffered damage. Two other persons, who were apparently sleeping at the spot, were also hurt in the freak mishap.

Ambazari API Surose has booked the car driver under Sections 279, 337, 338, 427 of IPC and probing the case further.
