Speeding car kills boy, injures two others on Wardha Road

Nagpur: A young boy was killed and his two friends injured when the Activa they were riding was rammed by a rashly driven car on Nagpur-Wardha Road on Thursday. The tragedy occurred exactly at 0000 hours in the dead of night in front of D K Pan Mandir. The car driver, who has not been identified, has been booked for causing death of the boy and injuries to other two. The injured have been admitted to Orange City Hospital.

According to details, the complainant Vaibhav Shivdas Nitnavre (21), resident of Somalwada, and his friends Nitesh Manik Dhepe (26) and Sameer Hadke were going on Honda Activa (MH-31/DK 5700) triple seat on Thursday. When the trio reached in front of D K Pan Mandir situated on Nagpur-Wardha Road, a recklessly driven car (MH-31/EK 9360) crashed on their Activa with tremendous force at 0000 hours in the dead of night. As a result, Vaibhav, Nitesh and Sameer got hurled in the air and landed on the road with a thud. All the three friends received serious injuries due to the crash. However, the injuries to Nitesh proved fatal and he died on the spot. Vaibhav and Sameer were rushed to Orange City Hospital by passersby where they are reportedly recuperating. On being informed, a team of Sonegaon police reached the spot and sent Nitesh’s body to GMCH for post-mortem.

PSI Pimpalkhede has booked the unidentified car driver under Sections 279, 304(A), 337, 338 of IPC read with Sub-Sections 184, 177 of Motor Vehicles Act. Further investigations are underway.
