    Spat among friends leads to ugly fight as youths try to kill mate in Hudkeshwar

    A petty spat between friends led to a murderous attack on one of them on Friday night under Hudkeshwar police station. Two men have been booked in attempt to murder while the injured has been admitted to hospital for treatment.

    On Friday at 7.15 pm, Suraj Dilip Gaikwad (24), a resident of Siddheshwar Nagar, Chikhli layout was standing with Akash Suraj Taksande (25), also a resident of Siddheswar Nagar and his other friend. The friends were hanging out in front of Balaji Restaurant, Mhadgi Nagar, Ring Road when suddenly a brawl started between them. The brawl took ugly turn when Akash and his friend attacked Suraj with a knife-like weapon in a fit of rage. Suraj sustained skin deep injuries on neck and lost plenty of blood. Sensing the consequences of their act, the two youths made an escape from the spot leaving a blood stained Suraj.

    Nearby residents, who witnessed the blood bath, immediately informed Hudkeshwar police. The cops have sent Suraj for treatment to Government Medical College and Hospital and registered an offence under sections 307 and 34 of the IPC against Akash and his friend. Both the culprits are at large but police have assured to arrest them at the earliest.
