Social work students undertake cleanliness drive in city

Students of National Service Scheme (NSS) belonging to various social work colleges overwhelmingly participated in a cleanliness drive that was undertaken From August 1 to 15 as part of Swachh Bharat Mission.

The cleanliness drive, a joint venture of Nagpur Municipal Corporation and Centre for Sustainable Development, Nagpur, received an overwhelming response as scores of NSS students from social work colleges such as Kumbhalkar Social Work College, Purshottam Thote College of Social Work, Dr Ambedkar Social Work College, PWS College and BP National College of Social Work.

The students undertook cleanliness campaign at various localities, schools, colleges and created awareness through ‘Swachhata Rally,’ Street Plays and other media. The participating students of NSS took oath of cleanliness and also administered to others.

The Additional Municipal Commissioner Dr Ramnath Sonavane addressed the students and provided guidance on how to maintain cleanliness at various public places, residences, schools, colleges etc.
