Union minister for Textiles Smriti Irani will take over the I&B portfolio from Venkaiah Naidu who resigned from the post after being named as the vice-presidential candidate of the ruling NDA coalition.
The urban development portfolio, which was with Venkaiah Naidu, has been given to Narendra Singh Tomar, who is the minister for Rural Development and Panchayati Raj.
