Nagpur: The installation ceremony of Students’ Moot Court Association (SMCA) for academic year 2021-22 was held at Department of Law of Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar College, Deekshabhoomi, on Saturday.
At outset, tributes were paid to Tathagat Gautam Buddha and architect of Indian Constitution Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar. Vice-Principal of the College Dr K G Rewatkar presided over the function while Head of Law Department Dr H V Menon was the chief guest. On the occasion, 26 Executive Members including nine members of Main Committee of SMCA were installed. The newly elected Chairman Sonia Shrinivasan and Secretary Vedant Vyavahare took their charge. Addressing the gathering, Sonia Shrinivasan assured that the new team of SMCA would strive hard to achieve newer heights in its goal.
In his presitentail speech, the Vice-Principal Dr Rewatkar welcomed the newly installed members of SMCA. He also stressed on the importance of SMCA programmes for budding lawyers.
Head of Law Department Dr Menon and Supervisor of Law Department Dr Varsha Deshpande threw light on ventures undertaken by SMCA.
The programme was compered by Saloni Gupta while Vedatnt Vyavahare proposed a vote of thanks. Singing of National Anthem marked the conclusion of the programme. A large number of faculty members and students attended the programme personally as well as virtually.
