Nagpur: In a special gesture to mark Maharashtra Day, the Indian Army will open the historic Sitabuldi Fort to the general public on May 1, from 9 am to 4 pm.
Citizens will be granted entry through the Army Recruiting Office (ARO) gate located opposite the Nagpur Railway Station. Visitors must carry valid identity proof for access, while the exit has been designated through the main fort gate.
A prominent landmark linked to the historic Battle of Sitabuldi, the fort remains under restricted access due to security considerations and is opened to the public only on select occasions.
The Maharashtra Day opening presents a rare opportunity for residents, tourists, and history enthusiasts to explore the fort and gain insight into its rich military legacy and historical significance.
