An FIR was lodged against controversial singer Abhijeet Bhattacharya late Thursday night at Oshiwara police station after a 34-year old woman accused him of molesting her.
The alleged incident is believed to have occurred at Lokhandwala Durga Pandal of which Abhijeet is one of the organisers. The victim, who is an Andheri resident, had visited the Pandal to watch singer Kailash Kher’s live performance. While she was seated initially, over crowding made her vacate the seat and stand up to get a better view of the proceedings.
The victim in her complaint to the police alleged that while standing she felt Abhijeet’s hands touching her inappropriately. She further stated that on objecting to Abhjieet’s alleged misbehaviour, the singer lashed out at her publicly and asked the women volunteers to take her to the Pandal office where she was allegedly threatened by the singer again before he asked the volunteers to throw her out.

The cops, meanwhile, have registered an FIR against Abhijeet under Section 354 A (Molestation) 506 & 34 of the IPC.
