Nagpur: Four organizations including Swatantra Sangram Sainik Samiti, Mahatma Gandhi Vichar Manch, Jagrat Nagrik Vichar Manch and Jyeshta Nagrik Samiti staged a silent protest at Shahid Square on March 4, 2016 against the dictatorship of present government.
The protestors all had a black ribbon tied over their mouths and were seated quietly for almost for two hours, while busy traffic with vehicles honking were was passing the spot.
They were protesting against the dictatorship of the present government.
One of the organizers named Ravi Gurde while speaking to Nagpur Today said that this nation should run on Gandhian thoughts in a democratic manner. He said that if it is not run on Gandhian thoughts then it should run on Hitler’s Fascist or Nationalist concepts. He added that now a time has come to decide which concept should the government follow.
The ruling party is supporting fundamentalist movement and is trying to mute the democratic voices and dissentions.
They declare anyone as Desh Drohi (traitor) disregarding the law and order and the judiciary. This silent protest is organized to decry the dictatorial form of government.
The question over the attack on Kanhaiya was raised. He alleged that Kanhaiya was termed as traitor by some persons of the present government which is not true.
