Nagpur: The Shiv Sena (Uddhav Balasaheb Thackeray) faction staged a protest at Nagpur’s Reshimbagh Chowk on Sunday, opposing the State Government’s push to impose Hindi. As part of the demonstration, the protesters set fire to a copy of the Government Resolution (GR) mandating the use of Hindi and raised slogans against the Mahayuti Government.
The opposition to mandatory Hindi implementation has been intensifying across the state. Opposition parties have accused the ruling government of conspiring to undermine the Marathi language and suppress the state’s linguistic identity.
On Saturday, as part of this growing dissent, the Uddhav faction launched an aggressive protest against the Devendra Fadnavis-led state government. At the demonstration in Reshimbagh Chowk, party workers chanted slogans denouncing the alleged “Hindi imposition” and demanded an immediate rollback of the order.
The protest reflects the deepening political rift over language policy in Maharashtra, with opposition parties vowing to continue their agitation to safeguard Marathi pride and linguistic rights.
