Nagpur – Under Shiv Sena’s strategic campaign “Operation Tiger,” influential Nagpur leader Sumukh Mishra recently joined the party in the presence of Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde. Following this significant move, Mishra has now been appointed as the Working President of Shiv Sena’s Nagpur City unit. An official appointment letter was handed over to him by the party.
This appointment, made with the blessings of Hindu Hriday Samrat Balasaheb Thackeray’s ideology and Deputy CM Eknath Shinde’s leadership, was officially announced on March 24, 2025, and will be valid for a period of one year. Before joining Shiv Sena, Sumukh Mishra served as the former president of NSUI, the student wing of the Congress. During his tenure, he played a crucial role in expanding the party’s base across cities like Delhi, Punjab, and Haryana. Known as a firebrand leader, Mishra has led several impactful social movements and has been a vocal critic of injustice.
He was earlier associated with former Shiv Sena East Vidarbha organizer Kiran Pandav. Mishra made headlines during his protest against Nagpur University, where he forcefully occupied the Vice Chancellor’s chair as a symbolic act of resistance.

Sumukh Mishra is widely recognized for his fearless stance on social issues.
