Now that it is clear that Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s upcoming magnum opus ‘Padmavati’ will also have Shahid Kapoor along with Deepika Padukone and Ranveer Singh, the latest is that Shahid had put few terms and conditions before actually giving his nod for the film.
Shahid Kapoor who just became a proud father of a baby girl with wife Mira Rajput, made it known to the team that he would be available to shoot after a few months. The actor will be playing the role of Deepika Padukone’s husband Raja Raval Ratan Singh and his nemesis Alauddin Khilji will be played by the director’s blue-eyed boy Ranveer Singh.
Being a love triangle, and featuring Bhansali’s favourite actors Ranveer and Deepika, Shahid Kapoor asked the director that he also be given equal footing as Ranveer. Bhansali paid heed to Shahid’s concerns by adding a couple of monologues for the actor, making the role meatier.
Padmavati will see Bhansali teaming up with Shahid Kapoor for the first time, and we’re guessing he’s excited about the actor’s involvement after back to back knock-out performances in Haider and Udta Punjab. Reportedly, the two leading men Ranveer and Shahid have begun bonding over gym sessions already.
