Sex racket at Pachpaoli flat busted, 2 Bangladeshi women, one from Raipur rescued

Nagpur: A squad of Social Security Wing of Crime Branch on Monday raided a flat in Rai Society in Pachpaoli and busted a sex racket being operated from there. Cops have rescued three women including two from Bangladesh and one woman from Raipur, Chhattisgarh. A man running the sex racket has been arrested.

Senior Police Inspector of Social Security Wing Umesh Besarkar received secret information that the accused named Mohd Sarfaraz Memon, resident of Omnagar, Koradi Post, was running sex racket from a rented Flat No. 110, Rai Society, near Motibagh Railway Crossing under Pachpaoli police jurisdictions.

After confirming the inputs, a squad of cops raided the flat on Monday, April 15. The raiding cops found three women aged between 20-32 years being pushed into flesh trade by the accused Mohd Sarfaraz Memon. Two of the rescued women were found to be nationals of Bangladesh and the third hailed from Raipur, Chhattisgarh.

The accused Mohd Sarfaraz Memon, with ulterior motive in his mind, had taken the flat on rent and called the three women to Nagpur luring them with decent jobs. However, since the past 15-20 days, the accused lured the women with handsome money and pushed them into flesh trade being operated from the flat. The three rescued women have been sent to Women’s Remand Home till further action.

Pachpaoli cops booked the accused Mohd Sarfaraz Memon under Section 370 of the IPC read with Sections 3, 4, 5, 6, 7 of Prevention of Immoral Trafficking Act and placed under arrest.

The raid was carried out by Senior PI Umesh Besarkar, API Anupama Jagtap, PSIs Smita Sonavane, Priti Kulmethe, and staff Mukunda Garmode, Sanjay Pande, Manojsingh Chavan, Chandrashekhar Ghaghre, Praful Bondre, Pralhad Dole, Surekha Sandekar, Chhaya Raut, Sadhana Chavan, drivers constables Anil Dubey, Anil Markad under the guidance of DCP (Detection) Nilesh Bharne and ACP Sudhir Nandanwar.
