Serve only quality food to pilgrims visiting Deekshabhoomi: Kurve

Nagpur: The District Collector Sachin Kurve has appealed the social organizations that serve quality food to thousands of devout who visit Deekshabhoomi during Dhammachakra Pravartan Din. Lakhs of pilgrims are slated to visit the historic monument on October 10, 11 and 12 for Dhammachakra Pravartan Din and social as well as voluntary organizations serve them breakfast and food as humanitarian gesture.

The social and voluntary organizations have been asked to inform in details their food arrangements, the place of service, the items and the quantity to Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar Smarak Samiti and Food and Drug Administration. “Since it being the massive exercise, the anti-social elements could take advantage to indulge in sabotage acts and spoil the harmonious atmosphere. Hence the social as well as voluntary organizations must maintain vigil and serve only the quality food to lakhs of visitors,” Kurve stressed.

Similarly, hygiene has to be maintained. Food should be served at only the designated places and ensure food is not wasted. The eco-friendly paper plates, spoons should be used for serving food. Use of plastic should be avoided. Cleanliness has to be maintained at any cost, the District Collector said.
