Nagpur: Indian Air Force Senior Maintenance Staff Officers’ (SMSO) Conclave 2015 was organised on 11 Dec 2015 at Headquarters Maintenance Command, Indian Air Force, Vayusena Nagar, Nagpur.

The Conclave was attended by senior officers of Air Headquarters and all SMSOs of Commands of IF. The Conclave provided a forum for lateral interaction between the Officers of various levels of IAF, synergize efforts towards issues of common concern and to evolve strategies and effective solutions through collective domain knowledge for efficient and effective implementation.

During his inaugural address, Air Marshal Jagjeet Singh VSM ADC, Air Officer Commanding-in-Chief, Maintenance Command, IAF appreciated the support extended to Maintenance Command by all the SMSOs and Air HQ during the recently conducted pan IAF exrcise and underscored upon the need for lateral interaction amongst all stakeholders which would go a long way in minimizing avoidable delay through affirmative actions. He urged the Base Repair Depots / Equipment Deposts and Air Force Liaison Establishments to proactive towards faster delivery of serviceable componenets / aggregates to the field Units as wello as timely loading of Cat-Ds to enable faster / shortening of Target on Time (TOT)

During the conclave, Suvrna Raju CMD, HAL deliberated on the issues with IAF and briefed the participants about future plans of HAL to ensure higher availability of aircraft and systems supplied by HAL to enhance operational readiness by IAF.

Group Captain PK Anand, from Centre of Indigenisation and Manufacturing Deot (CIMD) gave a brief overview of their role and functioning of the establishment and its road map which goes a long way in emboldening IAF role in the Make in India concept.

In the closing address Air Marshal VM Khanna AVSM VSM Air Officer-in-Charge Maintenance expressed satisfaction that the Conclave proved to be a grand success. He also thanked all the participants for their whole hearted participation and providing out of the box suggestions and solutions to various issues discussed.
