Senior citizen robbed of Rs 1 lakh

Nagpur News : A day after city police reported three bag lifting incidents in three hours, on Tuesday afternoon, two youths on bike snatched away with the bag having cash Rs 1 lakh from a senior citizen.

The incident took place just few minutes after Janardhan Bansod, 60, a resident of Nari road, had walked out of the bank with the cash from the civil lines branch. Bansod, a retired government employee, had withdrawn the cash from IDBI bank.

He was crossing the road when two youths came on a speeding bike and made away with the cash bag. Bansod immediately alerted police control room who then passed the information to Sitabuldi police.

On Monday, three bag lifting incidents had taken place in Dhantoli, Sitabuldi and Rana Pratap Nagar police station area.
