Sarvabhashiya Chaupal Inaugurated at VNIT on the Birth Anniversary of Gurudev Rabindranath Tagore

Nagpur: The Sarvabhashiya Chaupal was inaugurated on Monday, 11 May 2026, at Visvesvaraya National Institute of Technology (VNIT). The inauguration ceremony was presided over by Prof. Gyanprakash Singh, Executive Chairman of the Institute’s Hindi Implementation Committee and Dean (Faculty Welfare). Registrar and Nodal Officer of the Hindi Implementation Committee, Mr. Sachin Jagdale, was prominently present. Officer on Special Duty (OSD) Hindi, Mr. Satyendra Prasad Singh, delivered the welcome address and introductory remarks.

The ceremony, organized on the occasion of the birth anniversary of Gurudev Rabindranath Tagore, witnessed enthusiastic participation from employees of all levels of the institute, along with members of the Town Official Language Implementation Committee (NARAKAS), Nagpur Office-2 and 3.

In his presidential address, Prof. G.P. Singh said that this new initiative by the Hindi Committee would provide an innovative platform for the institute’s staff. He emphasized that not only Hindi, but creators from all languages would be able to present in the language of their choice. He congratulated the committee members for this initiative and stated that it would foster respect for all languages. Dr. Singh further remarked that in this Chaupal, every participant would play the role of both speaker and listener.

Registrar Mr. S. Jagdale expressed his best wishes for the success of this unique initiative by the Hindi Cell and assured all possible support.

Writers and contributors from various offices, representing different languages, captivated the audience with their presentations on Gurudev Rabindranath Tagore, Mother’s Day, and other themes.

Young students Tanvita Srivastava and Tisya Chandra, along with members from NARAKAS-2 and 3 including Vinay Kumar Saxena, Rajesh Kumar Sharma, Arun Kumbhare, Pradeep M. Janbandhu, Tejveer Singh, Dr. Bhojraj Lanjewar, and from VNIT including Dr. S.K. Ghosh, Dr. Bibhuti Ranjan Mishra, Dr. Debarati Dutta, Dr. Rashmi Uddanwadikar, S.P. Singh, Dr. Prabhat Sharma, Dr. Prakash Kulkarni, Dr. Kalyani Kale, Veerji Srivastava, Bharti Khadsinge, Khagesh Thakre, Mrs. Urmila Tiwari, and Hemlata Mishra ‘Manavi’ presented their literary works in Hindi, Bengali, Odia, Tamil, Telugu, and other languages.

The ceremony began with floral tributes and the lighting of the ceremonial lamp before the portraits of Goddess Saraswati and Gurudev Rabindranath Tagore.

The event was skillfully conducted by Ms. Poonam Uike from the Hindi Cell. Dr. Bharti Polke presented the Saraswati Vandana and delivered the vote of thanks. The ceremony concluded with the National Anthem.
