Nagpur: Shiv Sena MP Sanjay Raut has raised questions over Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis’ eligibility to lead the state’s home department, following a controversy surrounding a car accident involving a luxury vehicle owned by the son of state BJP chief Chandrashekhar Bawankule. Raut accused authorities of tampering with evidence, claiming a fair investigation is impossible while Fadnavis remains in charge.
The criticism came on Tuesday, a day after an Audi owned by Bawankule’s son, Sanket, collided with several vehicles in Nagpur. The occupants of the car were reportedly returning from a beer bar. No action has been taken against Sanket, who allegedly fled the scene. Raut argued that Fadnavis’ leadership hinders impartial investigations in cases like this.
