Nagpur:
Sri Sai Baba Sewa Mandal–managed Sai Mandir Trust has completed registration of more than 10,000 new members while the last date of registration is July 10, and the election date is to be declared soon. A spectacular rush was witnessed at Charity Commissioner’s office here in the city on Thursday for registration of membership, though many of them were poor men and women who could not afford to get registered due to high fee. Perhaps they must have registered themselves as Sai-devouts with their emotional attachment with Sai Baba. At the same time, only 1400 members out of 1800 old members renewed their registration.

It may be mentioned that there is always seen a heavy rush of Sai devotees at Sai Mandir, Wardha Road for ‘darshan’ as well as offerings. Devotees offer heavy donations in cash and kind including gold and silver to the temple, by means of which the Mandir runs its all activities. Any one who wants to become a member has to deposit the fee of Rs 1001 with Charity Commissioner. This being the condition, only affordable people can become the members.

It is worth mentioning here that this time many political party men have indirectly jumped into ring to enter the Mandir Trust, and they are working hard to achieve the target. Those who are knowledgeable among the Sai-devouts are of the view that the election of Sai Trust must be contested by the people having good cultural, social, educational and honest background. Such devouts have also moved a suggestion that the board of directors must comprise self-less and God-fearing people in the body so that they may exercise utmost sincerity in all transactions or dealings of the Trust.
