Ruckus at Lotus Hospital Sakkardara over patient’s death

Nagpur: Quite an uproar has been created at Lotus Hospital at Sakkardara where few relatives of a deceased created ruckus on Tuesday morning alleging carelessness on the part of doctors. The relatives alleged that the hospital authorities hid information about their patient being paralysed while undergoing treatment and then they deliberately referred the patient to some other hospital. The patient died the next day after being taken to another hospital.

Sources informed that 25 year old deceased Nikesh Dighore, resident of Nehru Nagar was admitted to Lotus Hospital in Sakkardara after he complained of nausea and vomiting. The doctors termed the case as normal and started treatment. Later after taking the dose the patient complained of severe head ache. A CT scan was performed which revealed that Dighore had developed clot in his brain. The doctors advised the relatives to take Dighore to some other hospital. Later he was taken to Green City Hospital in Sakkardara where the doctors informed that half of Nikesh’s body suffered paralysis. The relatives alleged that this information was deliberately hidden by the doctors at Lotus hospital. Nikesh breathed his last Tuesday morning.

Irked over Nikesh’s death, his relatives then stormed into Lotus Hospital and blamed carelessness in duty on the part of doctor. The police were called in later after which the situation was pacified.

It is learnt that the relatives will lodge the complaint with the police. On the other hand Lotus Hospital has refuted the charges levelled against it.
