
Nagpur: The Maharashtra State Council of Educational Research and Training (Vidya Nirbhaya), Pune has released the Right to Education (RTE) Act Admission Lottery Result 2026 on Monday, April 6, 2026, for admissions to the 25 per cent reserved seats in private schools across the State. The list of selected students can proceed with further admission procedures.
Competition for reserved seats is very high this year, with 2,89,498 applications for 1,14,826 seats in 8,701 schools, accounting for nearly double the available seats. The districts with the most applications are Nagpur (25,397), Pune (54,684), Thane (25,021), and Nashik (17,542).
The RTE admission process started on January 9, with the initial deadline for March 31, 2026. However, the High Court annulled the condition to choose a school within a 1-kilometre radius of the student’s residence, allowing more participation.
How to check the Maharashtra RTE lottery results 2026 merit list?
Parents can check the Maharashtra RTE Lottery Results 2026 Merit List by following the mentioned steps:
- Go to the official website atstudent.maharashtra.gov.in.
- Under the “Latest Announcement” section, click on the “RTE 25% Admission Process” link.
- Click on the link for “Maharashtra RTE Lottery Result 2026” or “RTE Merit List 2026.”
- Select your District, Block, or School Name from the list and click on ‘submit’.
- The merit list will appear
- Check your child’s name, download the PDF, and print it out.
RTE lottery result 2026 Maharashtra admissions guidelines
- Applicants can now select schools located within 1 km, those situated between 1 and 3 km, and beyond 3 km within their residence.
- Guardians can edit previously submitted forms using the ‘unconfirm’ option within their login portal.
- Applicants are advised to correct any errors without delay, as the submission of wrong information may lead to the cancellation of admission.
- Failure to present complete documentation during the verification stage will lead to disqualification, even if the applicant has been selected through the lottery process.
- Parents must ensure the accuracy of their address details and Google location coordinates before proceeding with the final submission, details like the child’s date of birth cannot be edited afterwards.
- The submission of multiple applications for the same child will result in automatic disqualification.
- For the purpose of residency verification, only passbooks issued by nationalized banks will be accepted.
- A disability certification confirming a minimum of 40% disability is a mandatory requirement for disabled children to be deemed eligible for the program.
The live broadcast of the draw, along with its YouTube link, is available to the public, the Education Director Sharad Gosavi confirmed. Afterwards, the school-wise list of beneficiaries was announced. Parents and/or guardians are advised to watch the official RTE portal for updates on the selected lists and the following steps in the admission procedure.
