Nagpur: John Peter, a retired cop of Nagpur Police, displayed a gesture proving that “a cop is never off its duty!” when he approached Mankapur Police with a mobile phone found on the street and helped the cops to trace the person who lost it.
John Peter, a resident of Flat No. 87 Ayyappa Nagar was passing through Rajaram Society when he found a mobile phone on the street behind Shaym Lawn on Monday. Peter, subsequently, approached Mankapur Police and informed Senior Police Inspector Vaijanti Mandawdhare about the incident. Acting swiftly on the input, Sr PI Mandawdhare with the help of the Mankapur Police squad traced the owner of the phone, Sohel Mahood Ahmad (24) and returned him his cellphone.
Ahmad has expressed his gratitude towards Nagpur Police and Peter for their gestures.
