Rohith Vemula’s suicide : Various City organisations takes out candle march

Various political parties along with backward class social organisations took out candle marchs, held demonstrations and resorted to stirs for demanding offences against those who abeted Rohith to commit suicide. Rohith’s suicide has hurt sentiments of backward class students and demand of action against ministers of Central government, Hyderabad University’s vice-chancellor and students of Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad.

Nationalist Congress Party Nagpur City
A memorandum to protest Rohith Vemula’s suicide was given by Nationalist Congress Party Nagpur City to the police inspector of Nandanvan police station Mahadik. The memorandum has stated after Bharatiya Janata Party’s government came to power in Center, killing of secular thinkers, intolerence and incidents of injustice to Dalits have increased. Social justice department’s city president Dr Prashant Pawar demanded that offence under Scheduled Castes and the Scheduled extent and. Tribes (Prevention of Atrocities) Act, 1989 in suicide case of Rohit Vemula.

On the occasion, Rajesh Makde, Dheeraj Kshirsagar, Sudha Jain, Pinki Varma, Anil Gendre, Rahul Mirase, Narendra Jain, Vijay Ramteke, Bhojraj Bondre, Anandi Bawankar, Pankaj Dipte, Gendlal Shahu, Manohar Sonsawava, Milind Wakde and others were present.

Phule-Shahu-Ambedkar Adhyapak Parishad
General secretary of organisation Prof Keshav Mendhe has demanded that Union minister Bandaru Dattatreya, Hyderabad University’s vice-chancellor and two students of Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad should be booked under Scheduled Castes and the Scheduled extent and. Tribes (Prevention of Atrocities) Act, 1989 and they should be arrested for abetting student Rohit Vemula to commit suicide.

The organisation said that Rohit who fought with circumstances would not end his life over trivial issue. BJP’s power and arrogance of Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad were responsible for Rohit’s suicide. Rohit had to slept outside hostel for two weeks. Vice-chancellor of university deliberately neglected this issue. If vice-chancellor had intervene in time, Rohit life could have been saved.

Bharatiya Bouddha Mahasabha
Vice-chancellor had driven Rohit Vemula who was pursuing PhD in Hyderabad University out of hostel on the charges of misconduct. Rohit was mentally tortured by cattiest system. Due to this, Rohit ended life. For seeking justice for Rohit, demonstrations by Nagpur city unit of Bharatiya Bouddha Mahasabha were held at Samvidhan Square.

On the occasion, city unit president Bhimrao Phuse, Milind Fuse, Anand Sayre, Gopichand Ambore, Haridas Nagdive, Siddharth Sardar, Chandu Bagde, Rama Wasnik, Minakshi Borkar, Ujjawala Thul, Haridas Belekar, Vinayak Meshram, Rajesh Khare, Naresh Bhide, Ramesh Dhavale and others were present on the occasion.

The organisations held demonstrations at medical square to raise demand of Central government’s minister and Hyderabad University’s vice-chancellor for abetting Rohit to commit suicide. President of organisation Anil Narnare condemned Central government.

Babloo Kadbe, Sanghapal Ganar, Pavan Gajghate, Satish Mate, Prof Naresh Kamble, Prashant Bansod, Anand Adkine, Dilip Hatwar, Bhojraj Sahare, Ritesh Gajghate, Raju Kamble, Narendra Puri, Pramod Khobragade and others were present on the occasion.

Dr Ambedkar Shramjivi Patrakar Sangh
The Dr Ambedkar Shramjivi Patrakar Sangh of Nagpur has strongly condemned suicide case of Rohit Vemula. Office bearers and activists of Bahujan Sangharsh Samiti, Rashtriya Manavadhikar raksha Samiti and other organisations had participated in protest meeting.

The organisations have alleged that Rohit committed suicide due to caste based mentality of Hyderbad University and demanded strong action those responsible for Rohit’s suicide. Nagesh Chaudhary, Dilip Nanwate, Sudarshan Godghate, Sanjay Bhandare, Praveen Nanwate, B D Nanwate, Raju Chavaria and others were present in the meeting.

Samata Sainik Dal
Hyderabad University’s student Rohit Vemula had to end his life after being cornered by castiest forces. Samata Sainik Dal has held BJP’s Union minister Bandaru Dattatreya, activists of Akhil Bharatiya Vidarthi Parishad and vice-chancellor of Hyderabad University.

The Samata Sainik Dal has said that Union human resources minister who took extreme intolerance stand in this case. Samata Sainik Dal will hold demonstrations and sit in stirs near statue of Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar at Samvidhan Square.

Demand of action against guilty in Hyderabad case
Strong reactions are being expressed from all over country over suicide of research student Rohit Vemula of Hyderabad University. Various student and social organisations have demanded strict action against those who forced Rohit to take extreme step.
