Nagpur: A man not only outraged modesty of a teenage girl while she was sleeping in her house but attacked her and also threatened to kill her if police complaint is lodged against him. The incident took place in Shantinagar police jurisdiction in the wee hours of Wednesday. The accused, a relative of the victim, has been arrested.
In her complaint, the 17-year old girl told police that she was sleeping in her residence on Wednesday. The accused, Rakesh Nandlal Chavan (27), who happens to a be relative of the girl, was also sleeping in her house. Between 0030 and 0230 hours, the accused Rakesh slyly woke up and molested the girl with vulgar acts. As she protested, the accused abused her and also bit her on her left hand. Moreover, the accused whipped out a knife and threatened to kill her if police complaint is lodged against him. However, the girl gathered courage and registered a case against the accused with Shantinagar police in this regard.
ASI Kushwah booked the accused Rakesh Chavan under Sections 354, 354(A)(B), 324, 294, 506(B) of the IPC read with Section 8 of Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act and Section 4/25 of Arms Act. The accused has been arrested.
