BCCI has appointed Professor Ratnakar Shetty to take over as Indian Premier League’s COO in process to gain back its credibility.

According to a report on CNN-IBN, Shetty will take over the vacant post of IPL COO, which until recently was held by Sundar Raman.

Shetty is a veteran cricket administrator and enjoys a relatively clean image.

Raman was told by Shashank Manohar to resign voluntarily or face the sack during BCCI’s annual general meeting on November 9.

Raman submitted his resignation earlier this month during a meeting with Manohar in Nagpur.

Raman was appointed COO of the IPL by Lalit Modi in January 2008.

New BCCI president had earlier criticized the board’s decision retain Raman post the 2013 IPL spot-fixing and betting scandal.
