Rashly driven SUV kills 32-year-old woman

road accident_39796Nagpur: Few four wheeler drivers assume the roads to be a trial grounds to test the speed endurance of their vehicles. This often causes fatal road mishaps. In a similar incident that occurred in Pratap Nagar area, the driver of a Tata Safari SUV who was driving his vehicle in a very rash manner speedily, rammed into an Activa two-wheeler driven by the deceased 32-year-old woman with her child and her sister-in-law. The trios were critically injured and were rushed to the hospital for treatment. However, during the course of treatment the 32-year-old woman succumbed to her injuries.

According to Police sources, the incident occurred on February 23, 2015, at around 2 pm, the deceased identified as Sonal Prashant Wankar aged 32-years and a resident of Plot No 8, Rajeev Nagar, Somalwada, Wardha Road was riding her Honda Activa bearing RTO registration No. MH-31/ ED-7984 and was going to Vasantrao Deshpande Hall via Sneh Nagar. She was going with her son Arjun and Sister-in-law Swati.

When they neared Plot No 48 of Sneh Nagar, the driver of a Tata Safari SUV bearing RTO Registration No MH-32/ C-4912 was speeding his vehicle in a rash manner rammed into the right side of Honda Activa driven by the deceased Sonal.

The trio on the Honda Activa which included the deceased Sonal, her son Arjun and Sister-in-law Swati were critically injured in the mishap. The injured were rushed to Meditrena Hospital, Ramdaspeth for treatment. However, during the course of treatment Sonal Wankar succumbed to her injuries.

On the basis of a complaint lodged by the husband of the deceased Prashant Vittalrao Wankar aged 40 years, Police Sub Inspector Halami of Pratap Nagar Police Station registered a case under sections 279, 337, 338 and 304 (A) of Indian Penal Code read with Sections 134, 177 of Motor Vehicles Act against the accused driver.
