Rash driving kills young man in Old Kamptee

Nagpur: Reckless driving claimed the life of a young man as the moped he was riding met with an accident in Old Kamptee police area on Thursday evening.

A resident of Telipura, near Hanuman Mandir, Old Yerkheda, Kamptee, Raju Vijay Dhurve (29), was riding his moped (MH-40/BY 2366) rashly around 5.45 pm on Thursday. As he reached near Hanuman Mandir, opposite Military Gate on Waregaon Road, he lost control over the speeding moped. The moped skidded off the road and dashed against iron grills. Raju, as a result, suffered fatal injuries and died on the spot.

Old Kamptee police constable Mandali, based on a complaint, booked Raju Dhurve under Sections 279, 304(A) for causing his own death due to negligent driving. Further probe is underway.
