Actress Deepika Padukone and actor Ranveer Singh tied the knot at Lake Como in Italy. The Anand Karaj ceremony took place on November 15. An Italian Sikh organisation has alleged that during the ritual, the Sikh code of conduct was violated. According to a report in The Tribune, Akal Takht acting Jathedar Giani Harpreet Singh stated that once a complaint is received, the matter would be taken up with the five high priests.

The ceremony took place at Villa del Balbianell. While performing it, the Guru Granth Sahib was shifted from the Brescia gurdwara to the villa. Indian Sikh Community Italy president Sukhdev Singh Kang said that Akal Takht ‘hukumnama’ strictly prohibits shifting Guru Granth Sahib to a place other than a gurdwara. He added that his organisation would write to Akal Takht Jathedar demanding an investigation.

He was quoted as saying, “It was a major lapse on the part of the gurdwara management.”

More details on the same are still awaited.

If a report is to be believed, during shabad ceremony, Deepika got emotional and so did her father Prakash Padukone. Both of them hugged and cried their hearts out. Ranveer then hugged his father-in-law and promised that he will take care of his daughter. He also kissed his ladylove on her forehead.

Both the stars got married as per Konkani and Sindhi traditions. The ceremonies took place in the presence of close friends and family.

Meanwhile, Deepika and Ranveer have returned to Mumbai. The newlyweds were all smiles for shutterbugs. They will be hosting a reception in Bengaluru on November 21 and the other one is dated for November 28 which will take place in Mumbai.

On a related note, Ranveer will be seen sharing the screen space with Sara Ali Khan in Rohit Shetty’s Simmba. The film is all set to hit the screens on December 28.
