Nagpur: The Institute of Military Law, Kamptee celebrated its Raising Day with enthusiasm on May 16, 2016.  Highlight of the occasion was the visit of Justice Dr AK Sikri of Supreme Court.  Justice Dr AK Sikri planted a palm plant to mark the occasion.

After a tour of the unit, he addressed officers undergoing 25 JAAC Course and Judge Advocate General Branch officers which included an officer from Bangladesh Army.  Justice Dr AK Sikri stressed that it is the responsibility of JAG branch officers to carefully study each case and ensure that principle of natural justice is followed.

He also emphasised that in armed forces, justice and discipline are to be ensured and JAG branch officers have a very important role to play in achieving this. Brigadier Vijay Kumar Commandant IML presented a memento to Justice Dr AK Sikri on behalf of IML.

Col. Dr AK Vashisth Deputy Commandant proposed the vote of thanks.  Col. Sandeep Kumar who was the Commandant IML prior to Brigadier Vijay Kumar specially visited the unit for Raising Day.  Distinguished guests who attended the address were Brigadier DV Singh, Commandant GRC, Brigadier SB Singh, Deputy Commandant OTA NCC, Brigadier Rakesh Mishra, Deputy JAG (CM) Army Headquarters and Group Captain George Mattam, CJA (Air Force) Headquarters Maintenance Command.  Justice AK Sikri complemented ‘Sunshine Team IML’ on the occasion.
