
The temporary gains would cost Nagpurians a delayed monsoon. Due to the change in weather pattern, the monsoon is now expected to hit Nagpur by June 15, a week later than the normal date.

Assistant Meteorologist Grade-I Siraj Khan informed Nagpur Today that there is a well marked low pressure area around Sri Lanka.
This will develop into depression during next 36 hrs. This depression It will move in North western direction which would result in isolated rains in Southern parts of Vidarbha and Chhattisgarh on18th and 19th May.
He added that there would be some relief in maximum temperature too but it is coming with the cost. Due to this change, now monsoon is delayed by a week. It may reach Nagpur by 15th of June, he added.
Meanwhile, the city continue to reel under heavy duty heat wave as the afternoons are creating havoc upon the commuters.
The otherwise busy stretches wore a deserted look on Monday when the temperature rose to 45.7 degrees Celsius.
