Pulgaon blast affects hearing of 119 villagers

News Pulgaon GatePulgaon/Nagpur: The deafening blast and subsequent fire at Pulgaon Central Ammunition Depot that claimed 19 lives, severely affected the hearing of surrounding villagers.

199 peasants attended the medical check-up camp organised by the public health department on Wednesday at Pulgaon. 199 people complained of hearing loss, out of which, condition of 58 was critical. These 58 patients have been sent to district hospital for further treatment.

Public health minister Deepak Savant visited Pulgaon and took stock of the situation there. The blast was so severe that it affected the ear drums of peasants from Muratgaon, Pipri, Nagzari, Agargaon and Asgaon.

The villagers complained to Savant about hearing loss during his visit, following which he contacted the deputy director Dr Sanjay Jaiswal of public health department and told him to conduct a medical camp. He also called ENT experts to attend the camp.
