Proposals for National Livestock Campaign invited

Rashtriya Pashudhan Abhiyan

Nagpur.

The Central Government has decided to club together the various Central Governments’ award-winning schemes of life-stock breeding which includes livestock like pigs, horses, rabbits, sheep, goats, poultry and donkeys from 2014 to 2015. This is all set to be executed in the 12th Five Year Planning. The objective is to enhance the quantitative and qualitative of the livestock farming. Apart from this, the agency will explore possibilities of capacity building of related organizations. This scheme is being launched for the above mentioned objectives.

Many sub-campaigns have been planned under this campaign.

Many schemes have been included in the sub-campaign. This includes animal-breeders, farmers, self-employed entrepreneurs, producers, co-operative societies, Self-Help Savings Group, organizations and agencies that produce agricultural products, farmer’s societies and others are entitled to benefit from these schemes.

The proposal should be submitted with details which include the directives given by the Central Government, information brochure, details of the village, under which details of Government’s Zilla Parishad Veterinary Hospital under whose jurisdiction the village falls in, recommendation of the Veterinary Doctor and the District Livestock Development Officer’s or the Associate State Commissioner of Animal Husbandry, District Minor Veterinary Polyclinic between May 1 to 31, 2015.

Under this campaign, beneficiaries will be included under the following criterion.

  1. Schedule Caste     -16%,
  2. Scheduled Tribes -8%
  3. Women                 -30%
  4. Handicapped        -3%

Those who are interested in availing the benefits of the above schemes can get the detailed related information from the officials of the District Livestock Development Office or the Associate State Commissionerate of Animal Husbandry etc in their village jurisdictions. The interested can submit the proposals through the Medical Officers of Veterinary Hospital of their areas. This was informed through a press note issued by the District Deputy Commissioner of Animal Husbandry Nagpur.
