Nagpur: After a lot of hue and cry officers attached to Economic OffencesWing (EoW) of the Crime Branch registered an offence of criminal breach of trust and cheating against Reatox Builders & Developers Pvt Ltd, M/s Chaurangi Builders and Developers Pvt Ltd (CBD-PL), officials concerned of Maharashtra Airport Development Company (MADC) and marketing agents for duping hundreds of buyers of crores rupees in the First City residential project planned in Mihan-SEZ.
The offence was registered at Sonegaon Police Station on the basis of a complaint lodged by Gagandeep Singh Jagdeep Singh Kohli. A resident of Villa No 367, Sahara City, Gawasi Manapur, Wardha Road, Kohli (32) had booked a 1,945 sq ft Flat No 0503 in his mother’s name at Prestige 2-B at First City project on September 20, 2010. After he had given a cheque of Rs 12,49,663/- to Reatox Builders, they assured him that the project would be completed within 30 months and he would get the allotment letter.
Likewise, Reatox Builders/CBDPL collected crores of rupees from other buyers but did not complete the project so far. Following Kohli’s complaint, EoW officers took over the probe after ensuring that an offence was registered at Sonegaon Police Station. Police Inspector Katakdhond is investigating the case under the supervision of Deputy Commissioner of Police (EoW) Deepali Masirkar.
