PRESIDENT’S CUP IN CRICKET HOSTED BY DPS MIHAN

Delhi Public School, MIHAN hosted a three -day Inter-School Cricket Tournament from 22nd February for the prestigious President’s Cup 2023-24 wherein 8 teams representing various schools of Nagpur vied for the coveted cup. The opening ceremony of the event was graced by the Chief Guest Mr. Himanshu Sanjay Joshi, who has represented Vidarbha in Ranji Trophy matches along with the Guest of Honour Ms. Savita Jaiswal, Director DPS MIHAN and Kamptee Road, Nagpur and Ms. Nidhi Yadav, Principal DPS MIHAN.

The eventful day began with a gymnastic display which showcased a mesmerizing performance by Keya Gajbhiye, a talented gymnast. The inaugural match was played between DPS Kamptee Road and St. Xavier’s Hiwri Nagar after the ceremonial toss that took place in the presence of the dignitaries.

The closing ceremony was held on 24th February, in the benign presence of Chief Guest Mr. Praveen Hinganikar, former Vidarbha Ranji Trophy captain, Guests of Honour Dr. Inderjeet Singh Randhawa, Sports officer at Raisoni Group of institutions and Mr. Samir Khare, former Vidarbha batsman who appreciated this initiative of the school to promote sports among the students.

The entire event showcased brilliant teamwork, spectacular sportsmanship, and excellent camaraderie among the players. The ground of DPS, MIHAN reverberated with thunderous round of applause extolling the performers with immense cheer at the time of announcements for winners where Delhi Public School, Kamptee Road lifted the President’s Cup. Player of the tournament who was awarded the Aranya Kedia trophy was Manav Rahija of DPS Kamptee Road. Aarav Gajbhiye of DPS Kamptee Road was awarded the best batsman and Krishna Gaikwad of DPS MIHAN was declared the best bowler of the tournament.
