President Ram Nath Kovind lands in Nagpur, reaches Deekshabhoomi

Nagpur: Amid high-security arrangements, President Ramnath Kovind has arrived Nagpur on Friday morning at 9.50 am. He landed at Babasaheb Ambedkar International Airport where he was accorded grand welcome by senior political leaders, MPs, MLAs and MLCs from various parties.

The prominent among those present at the airport were Governor Chennamaneni Vidyasagar Rao, Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, Union Minister Nitin Gadkari, Nagpur district collector, police commissioner and other senior bureaucrats.

The President headed to Deekshabhoomi in an Indian made SUV – Tata Safari, along with convoy which was part of the protocol. From Deekshabhoomi he would shortly leave for Ramtek by road where he is scheduled to visit Shantinath Jain Temple.

From there he will move to Dragon Palace in Kamptee where he will inaugurate Vipassana Meditation Centre. After coming back to Nagpur he would take a brief reserve time at Raj Bhavan and later proceed to Reshimbagh by road to inaugurate NMC’s Suresh Bhat Auditorium.

He will leave for New Delhi at around 5.25 pm today.
