New Delhi: Pranab Mukherjee rules out a second term as President in the wake of a statement from Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar.
According to sources in Rashtrapati Bhawan, the President feels that since the BJP has absolute majority in the 2014 Lok Sabha polls it gets the right to choose the President of India.
So that’s that.
Nitish Kumar on Monday said there would be no better idea than reelecting Mukherjee as President of India.
He also asked the ruling party at the Centre to try to build consensus with all opposition parties for the unanimous election of President.
