Nagpur: A property dealer allegedly cheated a Dhantoli resident of ₹8.70 lakh by taking advance money for a plot and then selling the same property to someone else. Following a complaint, police have registered a case of cheating against the accused.
The accused has been identified as Mohammad Saif Mohammad Shakeel (31), a resident of Jafar Nagar, Mankapur. Saif was known to the victim, Shashikant Borikar of Dhantoli. He offered Borikar a plot in Nehru Sahakari Gruh Nirman Society, Jhingabai Takli, for ₹17 lakh.
Borikar paid ₹8.70 lakh as advance. However, Saif allegedly kept delaying the execution of the sale deed. Later, it emerged that he had already sold the same plot to another buyer.

Based on the complaint, police have booked Saif for cheating and criminal breach of trust. The investigation is underway.
