PIET organized a two days Workshop on ‘Developing Teaching Competencies’

Priyadarshini Institute of Engineering and Technology organized a two days Workshop on ‘Developing Teaching Competencies’ recently. Inaugural function commenced with lightening of traditional lamp by the hands of chairman and resource person Dr. Vivek Nanoti, Principal, PIET followed by the floral welcome of him and AP Kedar, Head Mechanical Engineering. Dr.S.K.Deshmukh welcomed the guest and explained the objectives of the Teaching Competencies emphasizing on how it is useful and needful.

The session started with guest lecture on topic “Setting up Goals for successful & peaceful career in Teaching” by Dr. Vivek Nanoti. He aptly explained details of the topic and how dreams become goals when action is taken towards achieving it. The speech was followed by demonstration of participants in next session. Sixty three participants from different institute participated in this two days’ workshop.

The Valedictory program of the Workshop then followed. Prof. Dr. Sachin Mandavgane, Associate Professor, Chemical Engineering , VNIT, Nagpur was the chief guest and resource person who was given a floral welcome by Prof VV Gedam.  Dr. Sachin Mandavgane delivered lecture on “Relevant methods on effective teaching methodology”.  Dr. Sachin Mandavgane explained the different teaching methodology for knowledge dissipation between teacher and student.  He also explained the effective teaching attitude to interact with teacher and student.  In the second session, Dr.VM Nanoti gave lecture on “Teaching as Rewarding Career”.   Dr.Vivek Nanoti explained various benefits and satisfactions of teaching as a career and also explained how to excel in this profession.

The session was concluded with feedback from participants and vote of thanks was proposed by Prof. G.P. Lakhawat. A chemical Engineering Department worked hard to make this event successful. Management of LTJSS supported this event wholeheartedly.
