Nagpur: “If someone is coming to the Nagpur Police Commissioner (CP) Office, they are spending ₹200-300 to reach there. They are coming to meet because they feel that their grievance will be heard there. Hence, it is my duty to meet them and no matter how late it gets, I always meet every visitor,” said Nagpur CP Ravinder Singal here on Tuesday.
CP Singal was speaking at the Meet the Press program organised at the Press Club, Civil Lines. Press Club President Pradeep Maitra and Shirish Borkar accompanied the CP on the dais on this occasion.
While addressing the gathering, Nagpur’s Ironman CP Singal also got nostalgic, remembering his previous tenure in Nagpur where he also looked after SCZCC. CP also discussed various topics from crime control to traffic, upcoming elections to the drug menace in Nagpur.
“Nagpur is really close to my heart, and it’s a matter of great pride for me to lead this city as CP. Though any city is known for its crime prevention, traffic management, and law and order situation. So together, we will ensure to maintain these things in the city,” said the Top Cop.
CP Singal also discussed roping in psychologists to study the reasons behind murders in Nagpur. Nagpur Police will emphasise building infrastructure for a cyber police station to detect the cyber footprint of criminals, make their profiles, and deter cyber frauds.
Discussing his vision for the city, CP Singal said, “My aim is to create an environment of safety among citizens. Everyone should feel safe within the city, and this perception, I want to create that,” he said and added, “I’ll compare my tenure from the changes I made since the dawn of my tenure to its completion.”
