    Pedestrian knocked dead by speeding car in Nandanvan

    Nagpur News : A speeding car knocked a pedestrian down who was crossing a road under the jurisdiction of Nandanvan police station late Thursday night. The identity of neither the deceased nor the accused has been established yet.

    As per information, an unknown person was crossing road in front of Garibdas tea stall, between Prajapati Square and Sangharsh Nagar Square, when a speeding Maruti Suzuki car hit the pedestrian and sped away from the spot. Commuters informed Nandanvan police who reached the spot and performed panchanama. Cops have sent the body for post-mortem and have started investigations in this case. Cops registered an offence under Section 304 (a) read with sub sections 134 and 177 of Motor Vehicle Act.
