Parents likely to face hardship over delay in RTE admission process in Nagpur

Nagpur: In Nagpur, an online process is conducted every year from the month of January to get free education under the Right To Education (RTE) for 6600 seats, in which the children who get admission in four stages are selected and given admission.

In this context, Mohd. Shahid Sharif, Chairman, RTE Action Committee, said that regarding the process, information has been received from the Office of the Director of Education Department that there are indications of delay in the online process of 2024 as the Director has not got permission from the Ministry of Education, Sharif said.

He further said that due to this the parents will have to face further problems because the students who do not get admission in the lottery under the Right To Education, have to be admitted to the general admission schools and by the time the process is over, the admissions in general admission schools are closed. In such a situation the child is deprived of his right to education. The state government school organizations have also said that they will not give admission and they will not participate in the admission process until their amount is paid, Sharif informed.
