Nagpur: In a significant success against organised crime, the Pardi Police have arrested two absconding criminals wanted under the Maharashtra Control of Organised Crime Act (MCOCA).
A case was registered in 2023 at Ganeshpeth Police Station under Sections 386, 387, and 34 of the Indian Penal Code, along with provisions of the MCOCA (1999). The arrested accused are identified as:
- Faizan alias Raj ‘Kalya’ Abdul Rashid Khan (28), resident of Mirza Galli, Gandhibagh
- Rizwan Hasan Ansari (28), resident of Lodhipura, Ganeshpeth
Both had been absconding for the past three months.
On the night of October 15, the night patrol team from Pardi Police Station noticed two suspicious men loitering in the Nageshwar Nagar area. When approached, the duo attempted to flee. However, the police team acted swiftly, giving chase and successfully apprehending them near Ambenagar, Pardi, with support from the SWAF team.
During interrogation, the accused revealed their identities. Subsequent verification confirmed that both were involved in multiple serious offences registered across various police stations in Nagpur and had been evading arrest since the Ganeshpeth case. Following the directives of Senior PI Nanda Mangade, both were handed over to Ganeshpeth Police for further investigation.

The arrest was executed by a team comprising PI Nanda Mangade, PSI Arvind Kolhare, Prasad Shinde, Sandeep Lande, Shailesh Kumbhalkar, Yogesh Borekar, Nikhil Mohite, Ritesh Yelmule, and Ravina Bijewar.
